If you’re looking to hide your web browsing from your ISP or get around unnecessary censorship, an anonymous proxy might be your solution.
Browser proxies are incredibly simple to use and easy to set up. There is no VPN software to install, simply install the TorGuard browser extension to protect web surfing with Firefox. They stay running in the background and secure everything you do in the browser, while leaving your normal connection as is.
We released a proxy extension for Chrome a few months back, and we are now extending the app into Firefox.
In order to install the extension into Firefox simply download the .xpi proxy file, and then go into your Firefox menu (three bar icon), click Add-ons, and then click on the gear icon in the top right corner by “search all add-ons”. From here you can directly upload the .xpi into Firefox. Upon completion, you will see a green TorGuard icon in the top right corner of your browser.
Once you have the extension installed, simply log in with your username (often your email you signed up with) and password. From there you can connect and pick which proxy you want to use.
It’s as simple as that, and all your internet traffic going through your browser is now encrypted and masked with SSL or HTTP proxies in 17 different countries.
