Our development team has been hard at work improving the TorGuard Android VPN app so we can continue offering the best VPN experience for all Android users. This new update for Android includes various bug fixes and feature updates and has just been released on Google Play.

What’s New?

This new version of TorGuard VPN for Android brings improved features and stability for Android users on both old and new devices.

  • Fix restricted apps mode

We have updated restricted apps mode in the settings menu for improved performance on various Android devices. Under settings users can select “restricted apps” and choose to restrict or allow any app from a list of installed apps on that device. Simply toggle the on/off switch to restrict or allow any given app.

  • New Option Added for manually selecting WLAN.

Users will notice new feature options in the settings menu under “Activate VPN when WLAN is detected”. This feature will automatically detect changes in the network and connect to a given Wifi Network (WLAN) when detected. In this way users can also choose to disconnect the VPN when mobile connection is enabled, or vise versa. If you are using Android 10+ you will have to add the Wifi network name manually since Android 10+ does not allow accessing the wifi network list.

We appreciate all the feedback from our Android users as it helps us define what features and improvements will be prioritized next. TorGuard’s dev team has some great things planned in the coming months and we look forward to releasing more app updates soon!
