TorGuard customers within EU territories will now notice a new VAT (Value Added Tax) charge when paying for TorGuard services.

The European Union Value Added Tax is a tax on consumer spending within the territories of the European Union. This means that if you are within the EU and provide us a billing address therein, we have to comply and charge EU clients the appropriate VAT.

When tax is applicable, it will be charged and itemized separately within invoices for users that have EU billing information on file. VAT tax will not be included in TorGuard’s pricing pages.

As a non-EU provider of VPN services in the European Union (EU), TorGuard is required to comply with the European VAT (Value Added Tax) regulations and charge VAT to consumers located in the EU. Non-EU suppliers of electronically supplied services are required to account for VAT on services provided to EU non-business customers as a result of the VAT place of supply rules enclosed in Council Directive 2006/112/EC on the common system of value added tax.

VAT will not apply to Business VPN plans or any related business services provided by TorGuard.

TorGuard operates in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a regulation within the EU that protects EU consumers and gives them full control over their personal data. Users can read more here on our Privacy Page.

TorGuard users globally can still use cryptocurrency as a smart way to protect billing confidentiality and to minimize fees.
