From a global perspective, censorship looks different depending on the country you are in.  In Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States of America, restrictions are only placed on torrents, but in North Korea, people are prohibited access to political media, pornography, social media, and torrents.  While Belarus, China, Cuba, South Korea, Turkey, and Vietnam prohibit access to pornography and restrict political media, social media, and torrents, Ethiopia prohibits access to social media and restricts political media, pornography, and torrents.  To better understand censorship, take time to research how laws differ from country to country around the world.
