TorGuard has just released a brand new VPN client for Mac users. This newly updated app is powered by OpenVPN and features improved performance and stability on any Mac OS. Additionally, the user interface has also been updated to allow for easy navigation through the VPN server selection menu. TorGuard is recommending all Mac users download and begin using this new OpenVPN app for the best possible experience.

This tutorial will show how to setup TorGuard lite VPN client on Mac. If you encounter a “damaged file” error during install, please first turn off Gatekeeper.

1.) First, navigate to the TorGuard downloads page and download the Mac TorGuard VPN lite installer:

Save the TorGuard lite installer to your Downloads folder and run the .dmg installer. Click and drag the TorGuard icon to your Apps folder:

2.) Open your Applications folder and run the newly installed TorGuard app.

Click the server menu dropdown to select the VPN country you wish to connect to.

3.) In this tutorial we will connect to the Netherlands UDP VPN server. Select the server and click the connect button:

4.) Next, you will be asked to enter your TorGuard VPN username and password. Enter this info and click “login”.

5.) You should now see a Connected status! This means your VPN is active and all traffic is tunneled through the secure server.

To verify the VPN connection open a web browser and navigate to dnsleaktest.com:

How to uninstall TorGuard VPN

Open the Apps folder, right click the TorGuard icon and select “move to trash”.
