In 2017, we’ve seen a ton of new developments impact the internet space. A lot of these changes are quite frankly bad, since they negatively impact user privacy at large. In Australia, we’ve seen large-scale metadata collection, in Russia we’ve seen massive internet censorship, and in China and Korea websites are completely banned. In the US, more power has been given to corporations and internet service providers that let them handle data as they see fit, whether to sell it, or to target us with ads. But while privacy is coming under attack world wide, TorGuard VPN is stepping it up with new features, updates, and improvements to ensure your internet data, and privacy, stays your own.
So far in 2017, we’ve made huge changes to TorGuard that have not only increased speeds, but strengthened the security of our encryption. We released the new Openconnect protocol which is a SSL VPN technology that utilizes TLS and DTLS to encrypt and authenticate the encapsulated VPN traffic. Openconnect only appears as normal SSL traffic, which means that it’s impossible to block or throttle. It also has a built in killswitch that ensures the client holds all network traffic secure, and it has seamless connectivity on mobile platforms when switching from 3G/4G networks.
Each year we’ve improved our available servers, and this year we’ve added even more with new server locations in Taiwan, UAE, and Slovakia. Now, we have over 3,000+ servers in 55+ countries to ensure a fast TorGuard experience no matter your location. Besides these core improvements to speed and security, we’ve also updated the visual design of our mobile and PC app to reflect TorGuard’s state of the art capabilities.
We’ve already been recognized by many publications this year. Here are some VPN reviewers and customers that have nice things to say about us:
TorGuard Named “Best VPN of 2017”
“While TorGuard’s name comes from the “tor” in torrent and the service does work well with torrenting, TorGuard has grown into a top-notch VPN provider that works great for a variety of uses.” – Tom Spark, TorGuard Review
TorGuard “King of Ping”
TorGuard is the king of ping, and it was the clear winner in our real-world online gaming tests. For hardcore online gamers where performance is paramount that still want to play behind a VPN, it’s worth a close look. – Matt Elliott, IGN.com
Absolutely Amazing Service
“Signed up for the 2 year plan and got a dedicated IP for just over $100 for the whole time. Support responded to my dedicated IP address request ticket in like 3 minutes.. Twice. And I’m up and running. They’ve even already shipped my router (free of charge!) – Absolutely amazing service, and the speeds have been great, and streaming even works with my VPN on. I’m impressed so far.”
